My name is Jesika (she/her) and I hold a Master of Arts in Education, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Comprehensive Humane Education. I am currently a Doctor of Education Candidate in Educational & Professional Practice, where my research focuses on examining the hidden curriculum of speciesism in everyday discourse and its role in oppressing other animals. My professional experience spans the nonprofit sector, event coordination, and educational coaching, with my current work centered in the field of information technology. Passionate about philanthropy and activism, I leverage my background to confront speciesism and inspire others to foster a world of compassionate co-existence with all beings.
In my free time, you can find me on a hike exploring the Metroparks with my partner (Chris) and our canine counterpart (Diego), or enjoying quality moments at home with them and the other animals (Gianni - cat, Ollie - cat, and energy of Bishop - once a dog in form) we share our lives with.
