Rebels with a Cause: Reaching Teens Through Service-Learning
is a Fall II course offered by
Humane Society University
. Course participants will learn how to embrace the exciting opportunities offered by service-learning and how to involve teens in everything from fundraising, cruelty prevention outreach, and pet adoption programs that can invigorate any animal care or control operation. Explore how schools, youth groups, and even individual students can partner with community organizations to create local change and help students practice important academic and life skills. This course is an elective in the
Certified Humane Education Specialist
credentialing program, but may be taken as an individual professional development course.
